Founded in 2020, Companions and Animals for Reform and Equity (CARE) is America’s first national Black, Indigenous, and People of Color [BIPOC] Animal Welfare organization.
It's Human and Animal Well-Being Academy provides Racial Equity, Diversity and Inclusion coursework.
In June 2023, I took their REDI (racial equity, diversity, and inclusion) bronze level training in honor of Juneteenth. It's excellent and thought-inspiring training. It's wonderful for anyone interested in human and animal well-being and working in those professions.

Systems which allow for disparity and exclusion are also the systems which harm animals, cause compassion fatigue, and make it hard for people to work well together for animal well-being. So REDI training for those committed to strengthening the human-animal bond is essential. This year, CARE also has a VetREDI program which is RACE continuing education credit approved for veterinarians and a REDI Copper program for those working in Animal Care and Control.
In honor of Juneteenth through July 31,2025, CARE's REDI Bronze program is $19 and the REDI Copper & VetREDI programs are at a 19% discount.
